If you didn’t hear, this Friday (June 11) Illinois and Chicago plan to enter Phase 5 of reopening. Phase 5 has zero restrictions on indoor capacity and dropped mask mandates for vaccinated individuals. You can read more on Phase 5 changes here. We will be adjusting the guidelines we follow in the academy as well. Beginning Friday, June 11 these are some changes that will be in place:
Class Capacities will be raised
Student “training boxes” will be removed but floor stickers will remain as a guide to help maintain distancing when desired.
Student lineup formation will return to rank-based, not first come first served.
Vaccinated adults may enter and train without masks. Children must remain masked.
Classes will begin returning to the old format consisting of warmup, individual drills, line drills, and partner drills. Music will also be incorporated which may lead to extending adult class time back to the 90-minute format.
Storage areas will be reopened for student use. Please keep your items out of the walkway.
Once we replace the fridge, beverages will be sold again.
Please continue to register for classes as we have not set up an adequate touchless sign-in system. We are excited to be heading in the direction of normal training and soon rodas!
We’re looking to add more classes and encourage students to begin staying after class to play capoeira and practice music. Let us know what type of class and when you’re hoping for!
